We went to Cape this weekend to be with family for the holiday and it was utterly blissful.

We arrived late Friday night and considering we were all pooped went to bed.  Danny slept in one room with Lukas and I in the other with Stella.  Saturday morning came way to soon and as the sunlight came blazing in the bedroom at the crack of dawn I couldn’t help but wish for rain…overcast skies would have equalled at least another hour of sleep.  So I just layed there watching Stella as she began to squirm around and begin to wake.  I was just countinng my blessings and gazing at her precious little face when her eyes poped open and she sat up bewildered…almost frightened…because I don’t think she remembered where she was. That only lasted an instant though and as soon as she realized where she was, the BIGGEST smile you could ever imagine splashed across her face.  It was hilarious because I have never seen her that happy, that fast, in the morning before.  She jumped out of bed and immediately went down stairs to catch up with Mamaw.

The rest of the weekend was just as lovely as that morning.  My mom did lots of cooking, we did lots of eating.  My dad came out and took the boys fishing.  Can you believe they were out there for 4 hours?  A 4 and 5 year old…how does that happen?  We rode the 4 wheeler all over the property.  I even drove it and almost lost my husband off the back…lol.  Just a little trigger happy I guess ;)   The Easter bunny came…several times ;) …it was a childs paradise…

After dinner on Saturday night we sat out in the yard and just laughed and chatted and drank some adult beverages…it was a lovely evening.

I even managed to squeeze in 2 sessions.  Fletcher was first…his momma owns Annie Lauries Antiques in Cape.  The coolest little antique shop you ever saw…A mecca for awesome finds and decorating ideas.  His momma and I go way back, so watching this little guy grow up is especially heart warming.

Next up is little Gwen…she is such a doll and I have lots of fine memories that include her parents too…

and just for your viewing pleasure, I have to share a couple of Lukas and Stella(just a couple snaps in my mom’s front yard, nutin special)…is Stella’s outfit not the cutest EVER, courtesty of my wonderful friend Denise…reminds me of Pippi Longstocking.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and glorious Easter.
