So we had a crappy weekend, but that didn’t stop me from photographing some beautiful people…MAN…am I one lucky gal…

Lukas was sick most of the weekend, so that was no fun…except for all the cuddling…that I will take ANYDAY.

I found this field with all these golden wild flowers so I completely abused it this weekend…

yep she sure was pretty and so sweet and nice too!  I would stay and chat but Kindergarten open house and baseball game are awaiting me…plus I know Annette is dying to see these…

seriously…lots of em lately.  From big to little to itty bitty. While we are on the subject of boys…mine started kindergarten this morning.  His excitement was so precious there was no way I could shed a tear.  I was just happy he was happy and thought about him all day long.  Did I mention that is was pouring rain all day loooonnnnggg.  So we waited in the rain for the bus this morning and this afternoon.  Such a joyous moment could not be dampered by a little rain though, we were sitting pretty with our rainbow umbrellas…

when someone asks me about my hometown that is always how I describe it…There is something about the place I grew up, that no matter where I go, or what I see… nothing will ever compare.  It has the tallest trees, and the sweetest air…the quietest streets, and the most familiar faces…the greenest grass, and the quaintest houses…and while I did not belong to all of these places so many years ago, they all belong to me now.  They are a part of me…a part of my memories, and the golden feeling I get when I return will never tarnish.  I love just driving around…down all the streets I spared no attention for as a youngster.  Past all the houses that were only paid with a fleeting glance as a teen.  I now stare with happy reflection.  I sang down those streets.  I screamed down those streets.  I ran down those streets.  Usually with a pal in tow and a verse on my tongue…oh such joy…or drama…or heartache…all of it worthwhile now that I have found this happy place.

15 years ago I was dying to leave…now I dream of going back.  Home Sweet Home.

Here is a beautiful young woman who will be leaving that home next year…perhaps going to Mississipi…I would wager she will one day love our hometown as much as I do now…all things in time…right?  She may seriously beg to differ…

yep…I know, it’s been forever.  "Summer days…drifting away…."  Had lots of newborns lately!  I love the newborns…sigh.  My son got his letter in the mail today about his Kindergarten class.  I can NOT believe that little dude is school age already.  He still loves to cuddle, and play with my hair…and he has no reservation about holding my hand in public yet…so I will not morn his coming age as of yet.  The day I become an embarrasment though, the tears will flow like Hurricane Katrina…Till then…

…so last weekend Lukas, Stella, and I went to Fort Wayne for the Matilda Jane 435 Art Fair.  We had a BLAST!!!  The kids were good, the weather was amazing and I got to hang out with Denise, Lynette, Kayla, Chris(a little), DAVID and the rest of the MJC gang!  Friday they had an awesome welcome party with the best kids face painting I have ever seen….and the balloon man…you should have seen his balloon making skills…geez!  I need to ship them in for a birthday party sometime!

Get this…Denise and David share the same birthday and they got married on their birthday….so yes, the same birthday, and wedding anniversary for both of them.  Isn’t that so dang cute.  David told Denise he thought I was going to be short and trashy.  SO glad I didn’t live up to his expectations…lol…or did I???  I’m definitley short…but only trashy on occasion

Long story short.  I love and miss them all.  I met so many new faces last weekend too!  ALL wonderful!  Besty, Aimee, Loree, Mitra…all of Denise’s family!  You’ll never believe what Stella did while we were hanging out with them…nother time…

I did get to shoot some of the most beautiful girls on the planet while I was there.  Lisa, along with her girls Tiffany and Brittany won a contest Matilda Jane had and were flown out to 435 for the occasion.  They were given awesome accodations, free clothes, lots of treats, and a photo session with me!  How freakin awesome is that???   Not the me part….you know what I mean.  Anywho, here are a few from their session.

Oh and i had to share this one…Brittany and Stella became best friends.  Stella loves Brittany to pieces…and thank God for those girls.  They are the reason my kids were so good…they were well entertained!!
